Viet Nam supports the needy in Sri Lanka
Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha, Viet Nam – Sri Lanka Friendship Association of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Associations, and Dai Viet Huong JSC donated VND 1 billion (USD 42, 950 and SLRs. 15, 272, 400/-) for the supply of medicine and medical products to the Ministry of Health of Sri Lanka.
This donation was initially made in Ha Noi to the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Viet Nam at the Quan Su Pagoda, Ha Noi. Subsequently, H E Mdm. Ho Thi Thanh Truc, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to Sri Lanka symbolically handed over the medicines and other medical supplies to the Hon. Keheliya Rambukwella, Minister of Health of Sri Lanka at the Ministry of Health on 26 July 2022.
In addition to the above donation, Vietnamese Buddhist Monks and Nuns who are pursuing their higher studies in Sri Lanka also donated a sum of USD 15,000/- for the purchase of medicines for the needy.
The Government of Sri Lanka conveys its sincere gratitude and appreciation to all who have contributed to these donations and wishes them good health and success in all endeavors.
