Attestation of Documents

All Sri Lankan documents must be certified by the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo, Sri Lanka, prior to submission to the Sri Lankan Embassy in Viet Nam.

The documents such as educational certificates (degree/diploma), birth certificates, marriage certificates, police clearance certificates, affidavits etc if issued by the foreign authorities should be also certified by the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

Two copies of the Power of Attorney should be prepared by an attorney-at-law (Sri Lankan National only)and the executants should possess valid passport and sufficient documents (visa/residence permit) to prove legal status of the applicant in Viet Nam.

Applicants who wish to legalize their diploma/degree certificates should visit the Embassy in person with the certificates to be certified.

This Embassy will attest those documents after verifying the authenticity from relevant authorities.

If the applicant wishes to include translated versions of relevant documents for attestation, he/she should attach the translated versions to original documents before submitting them to the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the relevant country for authentication.

Applicants should submit their documents for attestation with the following supporting documents:

  1. Applicant’s passport with visa (originals with copies)
  2. Originals of the relevant documents to be attested with copies
  3. Relevant fee (please see the General Consular Fees section)

Visa Notice

The Immigration and Emigration Department of Sri Lanka has shifted from its Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) visa program to the New eVisa scheme, with effect from April 17, 2024. The ETA website was disconnected on April 16, 2024.
Accordingly, all eligible nationalities planning to enter Sri Lanka via air or sea, for the purpose of tourism, business and transit, should visit the "Official Sri Lanka eVisa Website" through the weblink to apply for their online visa to Sri Lanka.
The Official Sri Lanka eVisa Website, is the only authorized website of the Department of Immigration and Emigration of Sri Lanka from April 17,2024, 00:00 hrs.
