BRIEF PROFILE OF MR. POSHITHA PERERA,
AMBASSADOR OF SRI LANKA TO THE SOCIALIT REPUBLIC OF VIET NAM
Poshitha Perera joined the Sri Lanka Foreign Service in 2003 and assumed duties as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Viet Nam in September 2024.
Prior to being appointed as Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Viet Nam, he served as the Director General of the East Asia Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo. His diplomatic carreer include postings at Sri Lankan Embassies in Austria, Italy and Kuwait in various capacities.
Ambassador Perera holds a Bachelor’s of Commerce degree from the University of Kelaniya, and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Colombo. He is also an Attorney-at-Law, having completed his legal studies at the Sri Lanka Law College. Before joining the Foreign Service, he served as a Prosecution Counsel at the Attorney General’s Department.
He is married with three children.
