Viet Nam delegation participates in Rathnapura international Gem and Jewellery show
Eight-member delegation from Viet Nam headed by Mr. Ngo The Hoc, Secretary General and Vice President of Viet Nam Association of Gemstones (VAG) participated Rathnapura international Gem and Jewellery show from 29th June to 1st July 2024 in Ratnapura. AGO Gems, a renowned Gem company in Viet Nam also had a booth in the fair. Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, the owner of AGO Gems and Mr. Sengupta Indronil, Chairman of Indian Business Chamber in Viet Nam also took part in the delegation.
Prior to their visit the delegation met with Dr. A. Saj U Mendis, Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Viet Nam and discussed in detail about their program in Sri Lanka and future plans to get engaged with Sri Lankan businesses in long term business. Dr. Mendis commended and encouraged their participation at the Ratnapura Fair and briefed about the history and current developments of the Gems and jewelry industry in Sri Lanka.
During the four-day period, the delegation also had meetings with Chairman of National Gem and Jewelry Authority (NGJA), Chairman of Sri Lanka Gem and Jewelry Association (SLGJA) and Lanka Gem Dealers and Miners Association on future cooperation and collaborations.
National Gem and Jewelry Authority organized visits to a Gem Processing Lapidary and also a visit to Gem fields in Ratnapura, which was well received by the delegation. Further, the delegation got the opportunity to meet many Gem and Jewellery companies in Sri Lanka and to purchase gems and establish long term business partnerships with Sri Lankan Gem and Jewellery companies.
The delegation was arranged and coordinated by Ms. Kishani Wickramasinghe, Minister (Commercial) of the Embassy.
