Meeting with Mr. Do Quoc Hung, Director General, Department of Asia-Africa Market, Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT)
The Ambassador, Prof. A. Saj U. Mendis along with Minister (Commercial), Ms. Kishani Wickramasinghe of this Mission had a meeting with Mr. Do Quoc Hung, Director General, Department of Asia-Africa Market and delegation, of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on 3rd June 2024. During the meeting, the discussion focused on the trade and investment opportunities between the two countries and ways to promote bilateral trade and investment. Further, Ambassador Mendis indicated Sri Lanka’s interest to initiate the commencement of discussion leading to a PTA and finally to an FTA with Viet Nam, highlighting the fact that this would benefit both the countries in improving their bilateral trade and investment opportunities, which was positively received by the Vietnamese side.
