Honorary Consul General of Sri Lanka to Ho Chi Minh city and to Southern region of Viet Nam called on Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, Hon. Ali Sabry PC, MP at the Office of the Hon. Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo on the first week of July 2023. Ms Marguerite Aluwihare, who is known as Ms. Margo was accompanied by her husband Mr. Niranjan Aluwihare, a leading corporate executive and entrepreneur, who was the Country Manager of Avery Dennison, a US multinational in printing and packaging, in Viet Nam and now is heading R-pac, another US multinational corporate specialized in Print Care and Packaging. Ms. Margo had a comprehensive and expansive discussion with Hon. Minister with particular focus on economic activity, commercial and trade, investments and economic diplomacy, amongst others. Ms. Margo, in her own right, is a leading entrepreneur in Ho Chi Minh city and both her husband and Ms Margo promote and profile tourism to Sri Lanka, investments and other economic activity, thus complementing the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ha Noi. During the meeting with Hon. Minister, both of them discussed a large-scale investment opportunity and proposition, which has already been concretized, as well as other FDI and commercial activities which could benefit Sri Lanka both economically and financially. Both Ms Margo and Mr Niranjan Aluwihare also had expansive and detailed discussions of economic, commercial, investment and touristic opportunities with Hon. State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Tharaka Balasuriya, at his office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 13th July 2023.
