Embassy of Sri Lanka in Viet Nam officially commenced work for the year 2024

On the 02 January 2024, H.E. Prof. Dr. A. Saj U. Mendis, the Ambassador and the staff of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ha Noi, Viet Nam officially commenced the work for the new year 2024. The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Viet Nam, H.E. Prof. Dr. A. Saj U. Mendis ceremonially hoisted the national flag to mark the commencement of work which was followed by singing of the National Anthem.

The Ambassador and the staff then observed two minutes of silence to commemorate the war heroes and others who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation. The officers of the Mission took the Oath of Public Servants for the year 2024, which was followed by lighting of the traditional oil lamp.

Delivering his remarks, Ambassador emphasized the importance of commitment, honesty and integrity and adherence to rules and regulations of the public service.

Mr. Mahesh Premathilake, Minister Counsellor and Head of Chancery, and Ms. Kishani, Minister of Commerce reviewed the achievements of the Mission during the year 2023 in this occasion in the sphere of political, education, agriculture, trade and business.

The Ambassador and the staff of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Viet Nam also took this opportunity to wish good health, prosperity and success to all fellow Sri Lankans in Viet Nam and their families in the new year.
