Meeting with the Chief Abott of Chua Bang Pagoda
His Excellency Prof. A. Saj. U. Mendis, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Viet Nam along with the Minister Counsellor and the Embassy officials visited Chua Bang pagoda and had a lengthy bilateral meeting with Most Venerable Reverences Thich Bao Nghiem, Chief Abott of Chua Bang pagoda. The Pagoda is famous for its Sacred Relic Tower and its Martial Arts school – Nam Thien Phat Nam Quyen, one of the reputed Martial Arts school in Ha Noi.
H.E. Prof. A. Saj. U. Mendis recollected the memories of offering sacred Relics by Sri Lanka to the Chua Bang pagoda in 2018 while expressing his great interest to strengthen the relations with Chua Bang pagoda under the Temple-to-Temple diplomacy initiative of the Sri Lankan Government. The Ambassador stated that he has the privilege and deep honour to visit the Pagoda and felt the profound vibration of the Pagoda while his visit to the Relic Tower.
Most Venerable Reverences, Thich Bao Nghiem recalled his vivid memories in Sri Lanka during his visit in 2013 including his visit to the most sacred Temple of Tooth Relic in Kandy. Further, he appreciated the hospitality and the highest respect given to him by the Sri Lankan dignitaries during his visit to Sri Lanka. He also recalled the memories of his participation in the unveiling ceremony of the bust of the His Excellency Ho Chi Minh, the First President of VietNam in Colombo city.
Both sides agreed to strengthen the Buddhist and Cultural relations in the years ahead which are mutually beneficial to the devotees of Viet Nam and Sri Lanka.
