The delegation of the Embassy of Sri Lanka visited and worked at the National Economics University
Attending the meeting recently, on the side of National Economics University, there were Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong, President of the University, Prof. Dr. To Trung Thanh, Head of Research Management Department, Dr. Dao Thanh Tung, Head of International Cooperation Department. On the side of the Mission of the Embassy of Sri Lanka, there was Ambassador Prof Saj Mendis, Mr. Mahesh Premathilake, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Sri Lanka and Ms. Bao Anh, Special Assistant of the Ambassador. Welcoming the delegation of the Embassy of Sri Lanka visiting the University, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong introduced and shared with the delegation the highlights as well as the development strategy of the University. Accordingly, National Economics University aims to become a multi-disciplinary, research-oriented university, according to the President. In the current trend of global integration, National Economics University wishes to expand cooperation and share resources with many universities and educational institutions from Sri Lanka in the field of training and scientific research, thereby making an important contribution to promoting educational cooperation between the two countries. Envoy of the Embassy of Sri Lanka, Prof. A Saj U Mendis expressed his admiration for Vietnam in many aspects, such as its long traditional history, diverse and rich culture, especially the remarkable economic recovery. The two institutions are eager to connect for closer cooperation between universities in Sri Lanka and National Economics University, which is a leading university in the sphere of economics, management and business administration in Vietnam. As a visiting scholar at a number of universities, Prof. A Saj U Mendis also expressed his wish to have the opportunity to visit and share knowledge about international relations and economics with students of the University, thus further strengthening and aggrandizing the bilateral relations, particularly in the context of cooperation in education. The amiable meeting with the top most Faculty members and academia of the National Economics University lasted well over 60 minutes including a tour of the state-of-the-art academic institution i.e, NEU.
