Meeting with Viet Nam Airlines to launch a direct flight between Sri Lanka and Viet Nam
Under the guidance of Ambassador, the Embassy of Sri Lanka convened a meeting between Viet Nam Airlines and Aitken Spence Travels on 13th June 2023 in order to discuss of launching a direct flight between Sri Lanka and Viet Nam. This initiative would enhance tourism, commercial activity and even investments, amongst others. This was followed by the initial discussion between Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, General Manager, Strategy, Corporate Planning and Development of Viet Nam Airlines and Ms. Wickramasinghe, Minister Counsellor (Commercial) of this Mission on 19th May 2023 at the Viet Nam Airlines Head Office. In the virtual meeting, Mr. Lalin Sumanasinghe, Assistant Vice President of Aitken Spence Travels and Mr. Tuan discussed in detail the potential of opening a direct flight between the two countries.
