Presentation of Credentials to His Excellency Mr. Vo Van Thuong, the President of Viet Nam on 18 April 2023 by H.E. Dr. A. Saj U Mendis Sri Lanka Ambassador to Viet Nam

Prof A. Saj U. Mendis, presented the Letter of Credence to His Excellency Mr. Vo Van Thuong, President of Viet Nam as the Sri Lanka Ambassador, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on Tuesday, 18 April 2023 at the President Palace in Ha Noi.

Prof. Saj Mendis was accompanied by Mr. Mahesh Premathilaka, Minister Counsellor cum Head of Chancery, Mrs. Kishani Wickremansinghe, Minister Counsellor (Commercial), Mrs. Tharushi Perera, Attaché and Ms. Anh Song Bao, Personal Assistant.

Mr. Le Khanh Hai, the Chairman of Presidential Office, Mr. Pham Quang Hieu, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Nguyen Vu Ha Le, Director General of Foreign Affairs and Ms. Vu Hoang Yen, Deputy Director General of State Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Viet Nam participated at the bilateral meeting followed by the Credentials Ceremony.

Whilst assuring fullest cooperation for Prof. Mendis for successful tenure as the Sri Lanka Ambassador to Viet Nam, H.E. Mr. Vo Van Thuong, President of Viet Nam emphasized the importance of sharing mutual experiences of development among the policy makers of both countries for enhancing the economic development of both countries. In response, Prof Mendis, assured to elevate the bilateral relations to the highest possible extent in the sphere of, trade, business, education, tourism and cultural spheres in the years ahead.
