Tourist/visit visa

Gratis visa facility has been announced by the Sri Lankan Government for tourist purposes for  48 countries including the citizens of the Russian Federation with effect from 01st August 2019 to 31 January 2020. Other nationals are required to obtain Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) prior their arrival to Sri Lanka. ETA can be applied via http://www.eta.gov.lk 

  • Visa up to 30 days: applicants can personally fill in online application at www.eta.gov.lk

Eligibility:

  1. Valid passport (with 06 months validity period)
  2. Air tickets confirmation (Return ticket)
  3. Accommodation confirmation, hotel booking etc.
  4. Relevant fee for a tourist visa
  • If applicants wish to obtain tourist visas through the Embassy using ETA system, payments should be made only in the form of cash in the USD currency.
  • On-arrival tourist visa can also be obtained by the tourists at the port of entry.
  • Visa up to 90 days: relevant written request can be submitted to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow for consideration. The Embassy does not guarantee the issuance of 90 days visa.

Visa Notice

The Immigration and Emigration Department of Sri Lanka has shifted from its Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) visa program to the New eVisa scheme, with effect from April 17, 2024. The ETA website was disconnected on April 16, 2024.
Accordingly, all eligible nationalities planning to enter Sri Lanka via air or sea, for the purpose of tourism, business and transit, should visit the "Official Sri Lanka eVisa Website" through the weblink https://www.srilankaevisa.lk/ to apply for their online visa to Sri Lanka.
The Official Sri Lanka eVisa Website, https://www.srilankaevisa.lk/ is the only authorized website of the Department of Immigration and Emigration of Sri Lanka from April 17,2024, 00:00 hrs.
